Scripture:
“Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.” – 1 Thessalonians 2:8 (NIV)
Life-on-life discipleship is where theory meets reality. It’s where discipleship moves beyond coffee shop conversations or weekly meetings, and into the everyday moments that make up our lives.
The Apostle Paul didn’t just preach to the Thessalonians—he shared his life with them. His joys, his sorrows, his sufferings. That’s the model Jesus followed too. He ate with His disciples, traveled with them, grieved with them, celebrated with them. They saw His rhythms, His routines, and His rest.
When we invite others into our everyday lives, we allow them to see what following Jesus actually looks like—in the grocery store, at the dinner table, and even when the car won’t start.
It’s not about being impressive. It’s about being available. It’s about letting people see how the Gospel shapes how we respond to stress, handle conflict, spend our time, and love our neighbors.
Reflection Questions:
What spaces in your life could you invite someone into this week?
Are you willing to let people see your life—not just your “ministry moments”?
What rhythms could you develop that create space for intentional discipleship?
