God has been calling me to youth for a long time. It started early in my childhood. I always wanted to work with kids younger than me. Helping them and seeing them grow. As I got older, that desire only grew. At 18 I was given the opportunity to teach a lesson series alongside my best friend in the youth group at my church. From there, I got married, had kids and a lot of life happened between 18 and 26. It all came to a halt when God took me from the high paying job I was at and said this part of your life is over now. He turned me about-face and said it’s time to be about My work. So through some trials and much prayer, God turned me back to youth ministry. Which I thought was going to be volunteering at my home church, leading the youth group. But instead, I got the call from NEPA YFC. All through the book of Acts we see that after the church is established - the church starts to identify areas of need. Whether it be physical needs, spiritual needs or both. And they send qualified people to fulfill that need. Our young people NEED us. They need to see that there is an ABSOLUTE TRUTH. They need to be shown that there is a God who loves them. A God who loves them so much that He promises to never leave them or forsake them. If they would do one simple thing. Say YES to His Son, Jesus Christ. This is the ‘why’ I am here in youth ministry, striving to reach every young person, in every community. God has called me here. He has placed me where I am with my family so that He may use us for His glory, to reach the next generation, and the next one after them, and after them. So, will you join me? Will you come alongside and support me in this endeavor to reach our up and coming generations with the love of Jesus?
